Sports Injury specialist Graham Anderson off to Beijing Olympics 2008
Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 11:49PM After a nail biting wait since the interviews he had some weeks ago my business partner at Balance, Graham Anderson, got the nod to go to his 3rd Olympics.
As a highly experienced physiotherapist he has worked to get many elite performers on the track and field, into the boxing ring or onto the judo mats, on the badminton or tennis court or ready on the starting line from 60 metres indoors to marathon, at the top of the slope pre ski or snowboard and even at the beginning of a Skeleton Bob run. He has done this at many big sporting events including the Olympic games of Athens and Sydney.
Going to Beijing must surely be the greatest adventure of all though.
And what a fantastic opportunity for me to chill out over August whilst he is away. Fortunately the rest of the sports injury team are as able as Graham in helping our clients get back to full strength.
For those new to the site let me tell you about the business I own, with my two partners, Balance Performance Physiotherapy.
The complete Balance team includes sports injury and back pain specialists, physiotherapists, sports masseurs, podiatrists, strength and conditioning coaches, Chi Gung teacher, acupuncturists, Pilates teachers (Pilates Sanctuary studio), dietician Rees Collings, a sports psychologist and sports medicine doctor.
All these mentioned above actually work at Balance premises in Clapham, SW4.
This team includes some of the most active members of Industrial Strength. Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and chi gung teacher Glenn Cumiskey of www.allwellcentre.com; strength, conditioning and boxing coach Cj Swaby of www.cjsfitness.co.uk and Phill Ireland of www.irelandfitness.com. Phill is my stick fighting (doce pares) coach, he was a world champion himself and National Champion in Thai Boxing.
You dont have to work in strength and conditioning or even fully understand what strength and condtioning means to be welcome at Industrial Strength. Our common denominator is wanting to improve and learn physically (and therefore mentally and emotionally).
Get in touch with us with any doubts or queries.
Next session is April 12th, see you there.
